A place for different thinking to be understood and valued

Different Minds in Media was created to put neurodivergent people, perspectives and potential closer to the centre of our industry. We work across media, advertising, marketing, publishing, technology and the creative industries because these sectors influence how people see the world. They should also reflect more of the ways people think, communicate, create and contribute.

How It Started

Different Minds launched at Cannes Lions in 2026, bringing people together to explore neurodiversity through technology, work, creativity, leadership and the changing relationship between human intelligence and AI.

Those conversations made two things clear. People wanted a space where they could speak honestly about the neurodivergent experience, and the industry needed a way to carry that learning beyond a single week in Cannes.

Different Minds in Media is the next step: a permanent platform designed to support research, learning, collaboration and meaningful change throughout the year.

What Guides Us

  • Lived experience belongs in the room wherever decisions are made about neurodivergent people.

  • Research should lead to useful action, not sit on a shelf.

  • Inclusion should show up in everyday working practices, not only in public commitments.

  • Different ways of thinking strengthen creativity, innovation, leadership and problem solving.

  • Progress depends on honest collaboration across people, companies, educators, researchers and the wider community.

Who We Are

Different Minds in Media was co-founded by Dayna Moon and Steven Beckwith, two senior industry practitioners who wanted to create the kind of platform they could not see elsewhere: credible inside the industry, shaped by lived experience and focused on what people can change in practice.

We are now building the organisation's founding Board of Trustees and a wider network of advisors, contributors and partners across the UK and US.

Our Organisational Direction

Different Minds in Media is being established as an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation in England and Wales. This structure will support transparent governance and help the organisation pursue its public benefit mission over the long term.
