What we do
Research learning and industry action
Different Minds in Media is developing three connected areas of work. Together, they help the industry understand the issues, build practical capability and act on what it learns.

Different Minds Research Lab
The Research Lab will build a clearer picture of neurodivergent experience across media and the creative industries. We will work with researchers, community organisations and industry partners to explore where barriers appear and which changes make a measurable difference.
The work may include
-
Industry surveys and original research
-
Reports, case studies and practical recommendations
-
Benchmarks that help organisations understand progress
-
Research partnerships in the UK and US
Our principle is simple: research should lead to better decisions and tangible change.

Different Minds Academy
The Academy will turn knowledge into practical learning for the people who shape working life: managers, teams, educators, event organisers and neurodivergent people themselves.
The work may include
-
Open resources and practical guides
-
Manager and team learning
-
Workshops and industry training
-
Mentoring and pathways for future talent
-
Partnerships with universities and education providers
The goal is to make useful support easier to find and easier to put into practice.

Different Minds Industry Council
The Industry Council will bring together employers, trade bodies, community organisations and people with lived experience who want to improve neuroinclusion across the sector.
The work may include
-
Small working groups focused on specific industry challenges
-
Roundtables where people can share experience and test ideas honestly
-
Practical commitments and guidance shaped across the industry
-
Collaboration around events, research and learning programmes
The Council is designed for organisations ready to contribute, learn and help build better practice with others.
One connected program
Each pillar informs the others. Research identifies what needs attention. The Academy helps people respond. The Industry Council brings the right people together to test, improve and extend the work.
